Every age has its own challenges when it comes to getting the younger generation to cooperate for family photos. Toddlers have the energy and short attention span. Teenagers aren’t into those cute family moments because they’re too cool. But it is so important to capture all these stages of life since they are so fleeting. Therefore, I’m bringing you part two of activity incentives of getting everyone in the family to put up with a quick photo session all about fun things to do with teenagers. If you missed the post about children’s activities, you can find that here. Here are a few ideas of how to get your teenager engaged in your next photo session:

FOOD TRUCK FESTIVAL

Ice cream is a typical go to and works so well with children of all ages… and maybe even husbands. But if you want to up the ante, consider treating your family to a culinary adventure at a local food truck festival or market. Let your teenagers sample a variety of delicious foods while enjoying live music and exciting atmosphere. As a bonus, it also gives you a second outing as a family.

GAME NIGHT

Reserve a separate night or head home from your family photos session for a relaxed game night with board games or video games. Whether it’s a competitive round of Monopoly or a quest in their favorite video game, it’s a great way to unwind and bond as a family. Plus, it’s a great way to continue creating fun memories even after your session.

MOVIE MARATHON

If a night at home is your jam but game night competition gets too intense, opt instead for a movie marathon. Cozy up for some of their favorite movies or binge-watch a new series together. Prepare some popcorn and treats and enjoy the time together filled with nostalgia of days gone by.

DIY CRAFT SESSION

Tap into their creative side with a DIY craft day. Gather materials and supplies for your teens to create something unique. From painting canvases to making jewelry or crafting personalized decorations for their rooms, it’s a way to flex their imagination and create some fun keepsakes to accompany your photos from your most recent family photo session.
