It’s crazy how you can visit a location a hundred times and not realize it’s beauty until the hundred and first visit. The summer months for me are filled with trying to find ways to keep the kiddos entertained, two favorite ways to spend time being at the zoo or beach days. A favorite beach day location for us is at Muskego Park Beach because it is a bit smaller and tucked away for a relaxing day in the sun.
I’ve done a fair share of location scouting days and early on in this photography business journey, I walked around the Muskego Park area looking for good locations around the beach but never actually booked a session there with any clients. Well, let me tell you… I am kicking myself for not jumping on this location sooner!
When trying to figure out a new spot to photograph a sweet couple and their dog that I work with annually, it hit me to finally try the surrounding areas of Muskego Park Beach. This location is truly a hidden gem and has quickly become one of my favorite spots to photograph couples and families. What I love most is the variety of scenery that’s so easily accessible. From it’s wide-open fields to the cozy nooks of the tall pine trees, there’s no shortage of gorgeous backdrops.
The open field is ideal for those dreamy, sunlit shots that have a timeless feel, creating an airy, romantic atmosphere It’s the kind of place where you can let your pup run loose or share a quiet moment together without a care in the world. Just a few steps away, the tall pine trees provide a completely different mood. The rich colors from the fallen pine needles and towering trunks create an intimate, woodsy vibe perfect for capturing those close, candid moments… especially those sweet snuggles with your furry companion.
I don’t think I’ll ever get over the fact that it took me so long to photograph at Muskego Park Beach. It’s one of those locations that feels almost magical, offering so much versatility all within a short walk from the parking lot.
