Recently I worked with this beautiful family capturing their maternity and newborn photos. From the radiant glow of an expectant mother to the delicate charm of a newborn, these sessions had a plethora of endearing moments.
There is something so special when you are welcoming a new addition to your family. The anticipation leading up to the birth and then the sleepless nights, that are somehow still special and heartwarming, after you bring your bundle of joy home. Growing your family is no easy feat and it is the perfect time to capture photos so you can freeze the moments you cherish most.
The journey began with maternity photos when mom was about 34 weeks pregnant. This is a perfect time to have your maternity photos taken because the baby bump is prominent but you’re fairly safe from going into labor early and missing your maternity session. The ultimate sweet spot for these photos is anywhere from 32-36 weeks pregnant.
From the quiet moments of mom cradling her baby bump to the cozy shots of her and dad sharing a secret smile, every frame was a testament to the love that was about to multiply. And we can’t leave out the adorable older sister, who couldn’t contain her excitement about becoming the coolest big sibling on the block! We captured her giggles, her cuddles with the bump, and the whole family in an embrace that spoke volumes about the joy that was about to unfold.
Fast forward to twelve days after little man made his appearance and the magic continued as I visited the family’s home for the newborn session. The whirlwind of emotions that come with a new baby hadn’t completely settled but there was a beautiful calmness in the air. Again, we captured so many precious moments with different groupings so everyone had their moment to shine with baby boy. The star of the show, of course, was the adorable bundle of joy. Those tiny fingers, the delicate feature, and the soft snores… Capturing these fleeting moments is an absolute privilege.
