Winter in Wisconsin is usually not much more than snow days or super cold baren days where you’re stuck inside with not much more to do than cozy up with a good movie. Therefore, each winter, I like to heat things up with one of my favorite events of the year – Red Hot Headshots! It’s become an annual mini session event that I look forward to every January or February: a one-day-only event designed to give performers and creative professionals the chance to update their headshots in a relaxed, fun, and high-energy atmosphere. With only 10-minutes to capture these photos, each session is filled with laughs resulting in a gallery of headshots and a few full body shots thrown in for website purposes.
This year, I brought the event home – literally! I used my home studio in Greendale to create a versatile space with four different backdrop options that helped each client’s personality shine through. Whether you were looking for something clean and classic or something with a bit of visual interest, there was something for everyone!

Each setup brought something unique and it was so fun watching each client bring their own energy to each look. From musical theatre actors to small business creatives, the studio was buzzing with confidence, laughter, and a whole lot of amazing portraits.
What makes the Red Hot Headshots mini session event so special year after year isn’t just the updated photos, it’s getting to meet new people and creating something unique each year. The confidence boost of seeing yourself through a professional lens is something you simply can’t replace. The excitement of starting a new audition season or branding refresh with images that feel like you will always be worth it!
If you missed this year’s event, don’t worry! Make sure you’re on my email list so you’re the first to know when next year’s event rolls around. Spots fill up quickly and I’d love for you to be part of the fun next year!

And if you’re in need of updated headshots now, don’t wait until next winter! A solo headshots session is a great way to keep your images current, whether you’re prepping for an audition, updating your LinkedIn profile, or giving your website a fresh look. Reach out today to get on my calendar! Thanks to everyone who made this year’s event such a success – I can’t wait to do it again in 2026!
