As you can tell from this photo, this beautiful family has a super cool front door! The detail on it catches your eye and welcomes you the minute you approach. So, of course, they had to utilize it as a backdrop in their updated family photos. To put icing on the cake, their oldest son was heading out to college for the first time shortly after the session. This fact made their session somewhat bittersweet but had me thinking of what a charming idea to have your photos taken on your home turf.
I think we often forget the charm of simplicity that can be found on the front porch of a home. From watching old movies, I always think of sitting on a porch swing or singing about the boy next door when I consider a front porch. Nowadays with my kids, I think of sitting on the front stoop waving to cars and waiting for dad to get home from work.
