With Mother’s Day approaching this weekend, I wanted to take a minute to blog about the exciting Mommy & Me Mini Sessions I recently held. This silly Wisconsin weather forced us to postpone our original date with snow in April. But… we persevered and it was a balmy 65 degrees for the reschedule date!

This was my first-time hosting Mommy & Me Mini Sessions and I had really hoped to host the sessions among magnolia trees. Last year, we had a warmer spring and the magnolia trees were in full bloom by early April. Well, this year was a vastly different story. The Wisconsin weather was stubbornly stuck in winter mode, so blooms didn’t have the same opportunity to burst as they have in the past. Therefore, the scenery was still fairly dried up and bland. To make the best out of the situation, I borrowed my daughter’s canvas tent, decked it out with some flowers, and brought spring to the not quite fresh Wisconsin landscape.

One of the joys I’m finding being a photographer is meeting new families. The interactions are unpredictable and exciting each and every time. The families who attended these Mommy & Me sessions were dressed to the nines in their best spring attire. I had one mama who could still fit into her high school prom dress and had found a dress closely resembling it for her little. Another mama and daughter with the exact same flowy blue dresses jazzed up with a jean jacket. And three generations in beautifully coordinated spring colors. Check out some of my favorite photos from each session below.

After all the waiting and hoping for spring to be in bloom for these sessions, I am thrilled to be hosting Flower Farm Minis in July. Keep an eye on social media for an official announcement and check out the main website to grab a time slot!
