It’s hard to believe it’s already the week of Thanksgiving! In the spirit of the holidays and all the family gatherings will inevitably be happening, I thought I’d talk about my family session offerings in this blog post.

It all comes down to the fact that my family is one of the main reasons I got started in photography. Prior to getting married, my husband and I loved going on vacation and taking pictures while borrowing my mother-in-law’s “real” camera. Then we finally received our very own as a wedding gift which we continued to travel with and got really good at taking landscape photos and working the self-timer on the camera.

When our daughter was born, we did our own newborn photos with a wireless shutter trigger and I often pulled out the camera to take pictures of her during that first year of life (and beyond as I continue to do so). As friends saw the pictures I took, they started to ask me to take family photos which ultimately gave me more photos to play with in my editing and continued to grow my love for photography. Fast forward to 2021 when I audited a business class for artists at UWM prompting me to finally make the leap and make this photography thing a business.

From friends asking for family photos and watching my own kiddos grow like weeds before my very eyes, I went into business hyper focused on being a family photographer. My session options are geared both towards immediate families who need a quick, fast-paced session up to extended families who need extra time to catch a variety of groupings across generations.

Are you already thinking about your 2023 family session? Or perhaps you have extended family coming in for the holidays and want pictures taken of everyone together for the first time in years.
