Branding photos are a fairly new concept to most people. I think that’s because a lot of small businesses haven’t completely defined their brand or know how to. Brand photos are all about how you want to be seen by your audience and brand photos help portray your business and how you serve your clients. Basically, brand photos are a collection of images to help clarify how you show up in your business.
One thing I really enjoy about branding photos is the creativity that comes out of planning and researching the small business being featured. My process includes discovering your ideal client and what makes you unique so I can create genuine moments that have longevity to relate to your audience time and time again. Each step in the planning process is broken down to bite sized pieces so nothing is too overwhelming when working towards the actual session. I work with you to plan outfits, props, and fine details to make sure every bit of your final images are polished and pristine.
This was my first official brand photo session and it was extremely special because it featured my graduate school voice teacher. Tanya Kruse is a masterful teacher who knows how to pull out every ounce of talent from her students. It was so comforting having Tanya on the other side of the lens for my first shoot since I knew a lot about how she taught and what makes her unique.
The best part of this session was her willingness to have fun and be silly. In my opinion, some of the best branding photos surface from letting go of your inhibitions and just having fun. I know this can be intimidating when someone’s behind a camera clicking away and you have a specific idea of how you want your photos to turn out but when you relinquish control to your photographer your personality has the ability to shine through and your audience gets to know the real you.
